I'm Colleen. I retired from an administrative position after 20 years of service to focus on providing care for my mother full-time when she needed me most. I was her primary caregiver in my home for 15 years while balancing work and family. I enjoyed 10 wonderful months of full-time, around the clock care of my mom before she passed away. Then I found myself thinking more about my health, finances, dreams, and purpose, since my roles of employee and caregiver were no longer there, and I was an empty nester.

Prior to retiring from my job, I felt stuck in a dead-end position that paid me only what my employer determined that I could earn, and I faced challenges of balancing my time at work with my increasing caregiving duties all while maintaining my own quality of health.

The best part is that my earning potential is unlimited, and I am pursuing my personal dreams of adventure and travel. This year alone, I took a real vacation for 21 days. Then I went on a Caribbean cruise; I went skydiving for my birthday; I went to a jazz festival in the Southwest, and I enjoyed the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
